AN INFORMATIONAL MEETING WAS HELD AS PART OF PREPARATIONS FOR THE NEW TERM

Chaired by the Dean of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Faruk KARAASLAN, and attended by our Department Chairs, an informational meeting was held on September 8, 2026, as part of preparations for the upcoming academic year. During the meeting, discussions focused on academic and administrative processes for the new semester, department-specific initiatives, and evaluations aimed at ensuring that educational activities are carried out effectively and efficiently. The meeting concluded following an exchange of views and suggestions.

A PLANTING EVENT WAS HELD

As part of the OSD 103 Volunteer Work course, led by Prof. Dr. Ülkü Nihan Yazgan Tavşanoğlu, a faculty member in the Department of Biology, a plant-planting event was held in the Faculty of Science garden with the goal of creating a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable campus. Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Mevlüt Karataş, along with our faculty members and students, participated in the event and filled the Faculty of Science garden with flowers. We would like to thank all our volunteers who got their hands dirty to help create a greener and more livable campus. 🌸

2025–2026 ACADEMIC YEAR GRADUATION CEREMONY

We experienced an unforgettable day at the 2025-2026 Academic Year Commencement Ceremony. As our graduating students tossed their caps into the air at the ceremony held at our Uluyazı Campus, the campus was filled with great excitement and pride. On this special day, where hard work, determination, and success were celebrated, our faculty bid farewell to our graduates as they embarked on their new lives, sharing in their joy and excitement. As the Çankırı Karatekin University family, we wholeheartedly congratulate all our graduates and wish them smooth paths and lasting success 🎓

HACI MURAD-I VELI IMAM HATIP HIGH SCHOOL VISITS OUR FACULTY WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THE "LEARNING IN HIGHER EDUCATION" PROJECT

Students from Hacı Murad-ı Veli Imam Hatip High School visited our faculty as part of the “Learning in Higher Education” project. During the visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Müfit ŞAN from the Department of Mathematics taught a Calculus I class to 9th and 12th-grade students. We would like to thank them for this meaningful visit, which contributes to our students’ academic development.

A MEANINGFUL VISIT BY OUR FACULTY’S STUDENTS IN COMMERATION OF MAY 19

The event titled “Yesterday’s Youth Meet Today’s Youth,” organized under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Tamer Keçeli, Chair of the Biology Department, and Prof. Dr. Ülkü Nihan Yazgan Tavşanoğlu, instructor of the Volunteerism course, was held in commemoration of May 19, Atatürk Commemoration, Youth, and Sports Day. As part of the event, our students enrolled in the Volunteerism course visited the İsmail Özdemir Nursing Home on May 20, 2026, between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, to meet with the residents. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to chat with our elders, listen to their life experiences, and strengthen intergenerational solidarity. VISIT BY ACADEMICS FROM BARTIN UNIVERSITY TO OUR DEAN

Dr. Hicran Karataş and Dr. Samet Çelik, faculty members at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Bartın University, paid a visit to our Dean, Prof. Dr. Faruk Karaaslan. During this meaningful visit, the visiting faculty members presented our faculty with plants symbolizing nature and sustainable living.

A FACULTY MEMBER FROM KENYATTA UNIVERSITY, WHO VISITED OUR FACULTY AS PART OF THE ERASMUS PROGRAM, DELIVERED A LECTURE

Our faculty hosted Prof. Dr. Eliud Nyaga Mwaniki Njagi, a faculty member at Kenyatta University, as part of the Erasmus program. Prof. Dr. Njagi delivered a lecture titled “Should We Go Venous? Venous Acid-Base Parameters for Predicting Arterial Values in Chronic Kidney Disease Patients.” The lecture addressed current approaches to the use of venous acid-base parameters in predicting arterial values in patients with chronic kidney disease. The visit is intended to make a significant contribution to the development of our faculty’s international academic collaborations.

The ÇAKÜ BARBAROS team, along with members from Nişantaşı University, paid a visit to the Dean of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Faruk KARAASLAN. STUDENTS FROM OUR FACULTY PARTICIPATED IN THE KOCAELİ UNIVERSITY STUDENT CONFERENCE ON SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Students from our faculty who participated in the Kocaeli University Student Scientific Research Congress successfully represented our university through the scientific studies they prepared and the presentations they delivered. The congress, which saw participation from students across various departments, proved to be a fruitful experience in terms of academic exchange, gaining experience, and scientific communication. We would like to thank all our students, faculty members, and staff who provided support throughout the organization. We also extend our gratitude to Kocaeli University for their hospitality.

A DELEGATION FROM THE TÜİK KASTAMONU REGIONAL DIRECTORATE MET WITH STUDENTS FROM THE STATISTICS DEPARTMENT

Mr. Muhlis Oğuz, Regional Director of TÜİK in Kastamonu, and his delegation met with students from the Department of Statistics as part of the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Statistical Institute and Turkish Statistics Day. The delegation also paid a visit to Prof. Dr. Faruk Karaaslan, Dean of the Faculty of Science. During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the Department of Statistics and the TÜİK Kastamonu Regional Directorate, external stakeholder engagement processes, and potential initiatives related to the 7+1 internship program.
