History

HISTROICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE FACULTY

Faculty of Arts and Sciences was established under Çankırı Karatekin University, according to Law No:5662 adopted after the publication in the Official Gazette of issue 26536 and date 29 May 2007.  Twelve departments were opened by the Council of Higher Education upon the proposal of the University. These departments are:

  • Department of Biology (7 Departments)
  • Department of Physics (6 Departments)
  • Department of Chemistry (5 Departments)
  • Department of Mathematics (6 Departments)
  • Department of Statistics (4 Departments)
  • Department of Eastern Languages and Literature (3 Departments)
  • Department of Philosophy (4 Departments)
  • Department of Turkish Language and Literature (4 Departments)
  • Department of Sociology (4 Departments)
  • Department of History (7 Departments)
  • Department of Western Languages and Literature (5 Departments)
  • Department of Geography (3 Departments)

According to Decision No:2010/525 published in the Official Gazette of issue 27627 and date 30 June 2010, the name of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences affiliated to the Rectorate of Çankırı Karatekin University was changed to Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Science affiliated to the Rectorate was established. Following the establishment, with the act of the Council of Higher Education of number 032127 and date 03.09.2010, the departments of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics and Mathematics were transferred to our Faculty including the academic staff. The Faculty currently consists of the following 5 departments and their 28 sub-departments.
